Glastonbury Interview // Band of Skulls

Having spent the past few months well and truly etching their names into the iTunes playlists of music fans all over the country, Band of Skulls start their series of Summer festival dates with Glastonbury. Seizing this rare moment of stillness in their otherwise manic schedule, Noize sat down to chat with Band of Skulls about Glastonbury and what audiences can expect later today…
NOIZE: What day are you playing at the festival?
BAND OF SKULLS: Saturday, 8pm on the Q tent which is the Queens Head
NOIZE: What can fans expect from your set at this year’s Glastonbury? Any
surprises or special features?
BAND OF SKULLS: We’re still relatively new to the festival shows, still finding ourfeet….errr…rock hard.think later?
NOIZE: What does it mean for you to be playing at the festival and on its
40th anniversary?
BAND OF SKULLS: This festival is very special to all of us. Emma was a regular customer for many years, It was my first ever festival i went too and Russell said many years ago that he would never buy a ticket as one day he’ll be playing there. Reliving and fulfilling.
NOIZE: Are there any bands playing this year you hope to see play?
BAND OF SKULLS: Haven’t properly looked at the line up yet. Hope to see the Portico Quartet on the sunday…You should check them out.
NOIZE: What are your festival survival tips for Glastonbury-goers?
BAND OF SKULLS: Think fast dig deep
NOIZE: If you could go back and see a band play at a previous Glastonbury,
which band/artist would you have loved to have seen?
BAND OF SKULLS: Wish i could of seen radiohead in 2003, seen the youtube…looked amazing.
NOIZE: Why do you think Glastonbury has been so successful for so long?
BAND OF SKULLS: There is a vibe at glastonbury that no other festival has…Can’t explain it…. you know it if youve been. We are very honored to be playing.
