Sonisphere // An Unlikely 40 Winks

Part of the joy of festivals is dipping your wick into new and interesting things - kinda like a musical “suck it and see.” Of course, you can get it wrong just as many times as you get it right, but the Gods were clearly smiling on us as Strongbow Saturday saw Noize discover While She Sleeps – a great find, and how we haven’t seen or heard of them before we just don’t know. They crashed around the stage with great dramatics, front man Lawrence Taylor diving into the crowd many times over, shocking and impressing all at once. Their debut ‘The North Stands for Nothing’ demonstrates their view of life perfectly. These hardcore/metal guys from Sheffield are getting bigger and bigger by the second and in a genre flooded by bands, they are a definite stand out. Noize made a personal note to check out more of their recorded music to see if it carries the same throttle and punch. We really hope it does. Everyone should listen to them – they certainly got the day off to a flyer.
